1611 King James Bible - Regular Edition Facsimile - FULL DESCRIPTION:

The 1611 King James Bible - Regular Edition Facsimile Reproduction of the 1611 First Edition King James Bible is a wonderful and affordable display piece for your home. It is big enough to be a "Family Bible", and you will spend hours pouring over it’s magnificent typography and woodcut designs found in the original 1611 KJV.

Significance of the 1611 Edition KJV
Most people have never seen what the original 1611 King James Bible looks like, and having one in your home will provide a great conversation-piece, and an object of great beauty for all to admire.

The Authorized Version of the Bible - popularly known as the King James Version - was first printed in 1611. It set the standard by which all subsequent English Bible translations have been measured. Translation of the King James Version was a monumental task, one undertaken by a 47-member committee of biblical scholars. For over 400 years, the Authorized Version of the Bible, popularly known as the KJV, has been beloved for its majestic phrasing and stately cadences. No other book has so profoundly influenced our language and our theology.

Economically Priced “True” Facsimile
For less than half the cost of the Deluxe and Super Deluxe Facsimile Editions (that you will also see on our website), this "reduced" sized 1611 King James provides a tremendous value as an economical 1611 Facsimile alternative.

Significance of “Facsimile”
Do not confuse these amazing photographic facsimiles with the small, inexpensive, "reprints" that we also offer. The popular Hendrickson "1611 Edition" mass-marketed Bible, for example, is NOT a true facsimile (nor do they claim it is). It is a totally new type setting in a more semi-modern Roman Style Type Face without the original woodcut decorative accents or beautiful Gothic Blackletter Style Typeface found in the original 1611 KJV. Such reprints may maintain the ancient spellings, but they do not LOOK exactly the same as an original 1611.

Each page of THIS Facsimile (or “Photocopied”) edition was computer-scanned from an original First Edition 1611 KJV, and printed on 100% acid-free, archival grade, heavy cream paper. Other than the distinction of size alone, the Regular Facsimile remains an exact photographic duplicate of the very first press run of the world's most beloved book.

These facsimiles are all computer-scanned images from a genuine original, transferred directly to paper to produce an exact likeness of the genuine source material without the slightest alteration of appearance (except for size in this case).

Significance of Size and Binding
Measuring approximately 8-1/2 inches wide by 11 inches tall by 3-5/8 inches thick, this Regular Facsimile provides a much more manageable "medium-folio" size, rather than the original "giant pulpit folio" size (which is approximately 12 x 17-1/2 x 5-1/2”).

The binding of this beautiful 1611 Facsimile is a hardcover black imitation leather with gold stamping along the spine. Imitation Leather is stretched and wrapped “over boards” to produce a beautiful, sturdy, yet more economical way to preserve a bible of this considerable size.

1611 Spelling Examples
When you view page samples from the Old and New Testaments, or watch our video preview, pay close attention to the way some of the words are spelled, "Heaven" as "Heauen" in Genesis 1:1, "form" as "forme", "void" as "voyd" & "upon" as "vpon", in Genesis 1:2. You may also notice the absence, or at least, the ambiguity of the letter "J", in that the names of "Jesus" and “John” are spelled "Iesus" and “Iohn” in John Chapter 1 and throughout the New Testament. These are subtle, but historically accurate details and signs that this is an original 1611 Facsimile, and merely "scratch the surface" of the treasures and distinctions to be found in this collector's edition 1611 King James Bible - Regular Facsimile.

BONUS: As our FREE gift to you, with your purchase of any 1611 Regular Facsimile Edition; you will receive an early edition King James Bible Leaf. A “Leaf” simply means a “Page” from an ORIGINAL Antique King James Bible (not a facsimile). These leaves normally sell for $59 each, but come at no additional charge with any Regular Facsimile purchase!

1560 Geneva Edition - Regular Facsimile - FULL DESCRIPTION:

Special Note: As a general rule, we do not endorse any English bibles besides the King James Version. But we feel that pre-1611 English bible translations are and were historically significant in the development of the 1611 Authorized King James Bible. For this reason, we are proud to offer this rare facsimile edition of the 1560 Geneva Bible to our customers.

1560 Geneva Edition - Regular Facsimile
The 1560 Geneva Bible is the work of religious leaders exiled from England to Geneva, Switzerland, after 1553. It was the first Bible in English to divide the scriptures into numbered verses. It was the most widely read and influential English Bible of the 16th and 17th centuries. Shakespeare quoted the Geneva Bible more than 5,000 times in his plays. The images contained within the Bible were produced by hand-created woodcuts. The marginal notes consisting of about 300,000 words or one-third of the text was key to its popularity. The marginal notes often reflected Calvinistic and Protestant reformation influences. These notes were not yet accepted by the Church of England and led to the Bible's demise.

King James I considered the Geneva Bible "seditious" and made its ownership a felony. The Pilgrims and Puritans brought the Geneva Bible to America. This replica edition has been digitally re-mastered and slightly enlarged for easier reading, but none of the content has been altered whatsoever. It contains all 80 books of the Bible within the Old Testament, Apocrypha and the New Testament.

The Geneva Bible was the “Bible of the Protestant Reformation”, and the "Bible of the Puritans and Pilgrims". It was the first Bible taken to America, brought over on the Mayflower. The Geneva Bible is the Bible upon which America was founded. Most early American colonists, who were fleeing the religious oppression of the Anglican Church (Church of England), originally wanted little to do with the King James Bible of the Anglican Church.

What makes this book so special?
Textually, the Geneva Bible offered a number of radical never-before-seen changes:

- It was the first Bible in English to add numbered verses to each chapter of scripture.
- Also, the Geneva was the first Bible to introduce easier-to-read “Roman Style Typeface” rather than the “Gothic Blackletter Style Typeface” which had been used exclusively in earlier Bibles.
- Another curious innovation; the Geneva was the first “Study Bible” with extensive commentary notes in the margins.
- It was produced by John Calvin, John Knox, Myles Coverdale, John Foxe, & other English refugees in Geneva, Switzerland… fleeing the persecution of Roman Catholic Queen “Bloody” Mary in England. (Mary would not tolerate the Protestant Geneva Bible, which proclaimed the Pope an “antichrist” in its commentary notes.)
- The Geneva Bible is the only Bible ever able to outsell and exceed the popularity of the King James Bible, as it did in the early 1600’s until its printing ceased in 1644.

The Regular Edition Facsimile is bound in hardcover burgundy bonded leather with gold stamping along the spine.  It measures approximately 11 inches tall by 8.75 inches wide by 3.25 inches thick, weighs roughly 7-1/2 Pounds.  It’s substantial size is reminiscent of an heirloom quality family bible, yet without being too heavy or bulky to comfortably manage. It is printed on 100% acid-free, archival grade, Heavy Cream Paper, and makes for an incredible collector's item or an unforgettable gift to a bible collector, pastor, or loved one.

BONUS: As our free gift to you, with your purchase of the Regular Edition Facsimile; you will receive an early Geneva Bible Leaf. These leaves normally sell for $59 each!  They come with a beautiful Historical Brochure & Certificate of Authenticity.
